(photo: Gloria Mattera, candidate for Lieutenant Gov) Petitioning to get our 2010 NY State Green Party candidates on the ballot began Tuesday, July 6. Despite the withering heat, our candidates and volunteers have been out asking voters to help us get on the ballot. We need at least 15,000 signatures (far more than the Democrats or Republicans).
So if you've had it with politics as usual - how can it be that even after the oil spill, Congress can't take any action on climate and energy? - here's your chance to do something concrete about it. Petitioning is easy and even fun, and doesn't have to take a lot of time. Even an hour on your local subway platform before or after work can really help us get to our goal.
Contact Petition Coordinator Michael O'Neil to get started at michael@gpbk.org. He'll set you up with everything you need, including a buddy or buddies. You may also contact us through the GPNYC website or phone.
